The Tabernacle at Frieda and the Moon
Our unique Cornish tin tabernacle is a glamorous luxury hideaway.
Situated in a small wooded paddock on our thirteen acre smallholding, this very special caravan has a lovingly crafted vintage interior, with the utmost style and comfort for two - including luxury bathroom, underfloor heating, gas hob, and woodburner.
Beneath the stained glass window is a luxurious king size bed. Outside on the deck you can enjoy the long view down the valley from beside the woodfired stove, or savour the most sensuous deep relaxation in the cedarwood hot tub.
For the ultimate Romantic Escape holiday, or as the most perfect complement for your elopement wedding, you can book the Tabernacle here. Contact us directly via the "Contact" tab above to book The Studio for your wedding, Renewal of Vows, or Handfasting Ceremony, or call for an informal chat on one of the numbers below. We have bespoke catering packages making for the ultimate romantic experience as part of your "Exquisite Tiny Wedding" package. We provide full arrangements and a design and planning service if required.
If you would like to include another couple: parents, best man etc. for your bespoke wedding experience, consider booking The Observatory also — click the tab above for details, or book here. For a small number of guests we can provide facilities for a "pop up campsite" in the same paddock as the Tabernacle and Observatory — phone us to discuss if you would like to explore this option.
Our holiday visitors are often at the Tabernacle for a special occasion or anniversary — why not book one of our personalised hampers, delivered to your door on the day? Champagne Breakfast has proved to be a favourite with our regulars but all tastes and cuisines can be catered for. (We can keep secrets if you want it to be a surprise for your partner! )
For a really special day, we can offer days out on the Fowey River. Our boat "Frieda" is moored at Penmarlam, which is less than 10 minutes drive from the Tabernacle/Observatory. A typical day would be a jaunt up the river: we moor up somewhere secluded; you enjoy the scenery while we prepare lunch (could be a barbeque); cruise down to Fowey for some mooching about, or shopping, or maybe a pint of Cornish in The Ship; then cruise back to Penmarlam and home.
STOP PRESS: Drawing and painting breaks are now available at Freida And The Moon. Owner Paul, who was previously head of a large university art school, offers short courses in drawing and painting, synchronised with your holiday. Tuition takes place, both on location (picnic provided) and in the beautiful purpose-built Studio, which also doubles as the Freida And The Moon elopement wedding venue. All ability levels (including absolute beginners) are very welcome. Call or text Paul for further details.
To pre-arrange hampers, ceremonies, trips and drawing courses, call 01503 221015 or 07870 778660 prior to your visit.
