We… have a beautiful Cornish smallholding with rolling views towards the coast; a magical venue specifically designed for small weddings: quirky accommodation;  an enchanting ceremony venue; and years of experience designing bespoke weddings for romantic individualists…

Together… we can craft your “exquisite tiny wedding” down to the tiniest detail, an event tailored to perfection, to be as individual as you are. Our speciality is to wrap you up in the glow of this unique haven, so that you can focus fully on the special meaning of your relationship on your day-of-all-days.

Every wedding at Frieda And The Moon — whether “just two” or with a few guests — is quite simply, one-of-a-kind.

We know that the magic comes from curating an exceptional experience that reflects and celebrates your personal story. Frieda And The Moon is a small scale operation, so there are just a small team looking after your planning and the wedding itself — “small is beautiful!”

At Frieda And The Moon we specialize in bespoke small weddings, special anniversaries and mini-moons, and handfasting ceremonies, with accommodation in our glorious Cornish Tin Tabernacle or spectacular Observatory. Our guests often remark that we have exceeded their expectations in creating a  “perfect little place”  — secluded, quirky, romantic, and luxurious.

Our licenced wedding venues are The Studio, a beautiful timber framed sanctuary with Italianate ceiling, oak floors, wood burning stove, and the most gorgeous stained glass feature — The Ocean Window; and The Hornbeam Circle, a magical candlelit grove in the nearby woods — for an unforgettable tryst at twilight —  your special vows to each other in nature.

Your legal wedding can be in either The Studio or Hornbeam Circle*.

Many of our couples also book The Hornbeam Circle as an extra (additional to your legal wedding earlier in the day), for personal vows or an alternative wedding such as handfasting,  with our celebrant (see below).

* For legal Hornbeam Circle weddings, you also have full use of The Studio for the day for catering and for the ceremony in wet or windy weather. Most couples want the full effect with the fairylights and candles, which only works after dusk, so please bear in mind that if the ceremony is between 18.00 and 08.00am – there is an additional £210 fee for the legal registrar.

We can help you realise your vision of the perfect wedding…

Stay in our unique on-site accommodation, The Tabernacle or Observatory (each sleeps 2, with private hot tub) , custom designed to be the picture-perfect luxury romantic escapes. You can of course book both for a small wedding party of four. Extra guests ( our maximum is 6 including the couple) can stay locally — there are lovely holiday cottages and B&Bs nearby.

Your wedding can be as individual as you can imagine, talk to us about how we can add experiences, for example: A string quartet… Fleur the Alpaca or Figgy the Owl ring-bearers…  hand-fasting in the woods… a ceremony in the Hornbeam Circle… photographs on the beach… fine-dining chef…

BASIC COSTS

Legal Wedding (Studio or Hornbeam Circle):  £1400.00 + vat

Your package includes:

A bottle of Champagne, flowers for the room, a bouquet and buttonhole (or two bouquets/buttonholes) for the couple.

We are happy to be your witnesses if required.

Accomodation cost: Stay in The Tabernacle or Observatory — 150.00 + vat per night.

Celebration Catering

Champagne Breakfast Hampers (delivered to your door in the Tabernacle or Observatory).

Vintage High Tea: A range of home made and locally sourced cakes and sandwiches, served “Savoy style” on vintage cake stands and antique linens.

Grazing Table: Buffet style salads, meats, cheeses — all locally sourced where possible — Cornish artisan producers abound in our corner of Cornwall.

Tiffin Tin Indian Takeaway: Home made vegetable and meat curries and daals. Delivered to your cabin in a traditional 3 storey Indian tiffin tin. Includes chapattis, mango chutney, yoghurt, fresh corriander.

BBQ crate: Locally sourced sausages and burgers from Joe our fabulous local butcher. Comes in a vintage french apple crate with all that you need for al fresco cooking, including barbeque and charcoal. Comes with potato salad, green salad, fresh bread rolls and a range of sauces & chutneys.

All £35.00 per head + vat

Hornbeam Circle (add-on): £300.00 + vat (usually at twilight. You will have had your legal wedding in The Studio earlier in the day).

Celebrant: For a personalised (non-legal) ceremony at the Hornbeam Circle. Our favoured celebrants will design with you a bespoke ceremony to celebrate your journey together. £250.00 + VAT

Ring Bearer: Fleur the Alpaca or Figgy the Owl — for photos after the wedding. POA

In – house photography: This is a budget option, around 30 hi – res pictures that tell the story of your day. 295.00 + vat.

Bespoke Bouquets

 

Often they get a bit weepy, the brides, when the bouquet arrives. It’s easy to forget all about the flowers arriving — just before we collect you from your Tabernacle or Observatory — what with the  champagne breakfast and the hair and makeup and all the the getting ready. So the arrival of the one-off bouquet, made just for you, comes as a lovely surprise, just as the day begins to really get going.

Most often, seasonal wild flowers and foliage from the hedgerows and lanes are incorporated in the design, and the spray is always carefully co-ordinated with the bridal colours.

Each individual bouquet is named after the bride that carried it, so all of our weddings become part of the Frieda And The Moon story…
