From the moment we first visited Frieda & The Moon, we knew it was the one. After our original plans were cancelled at short-notice, Perla and Jo quite literally saved our wedding and we’ll be forever grateful that they did. The care, attention, and genuine love they put into every part of this magical place shines through in everything they do.

From the very beginning, they made us feel completely at ease. Every little detail was thought of, every moment flowed effortlessly, and they worked quietly in the background to make sure everything went perfectly. It’s those small touches, the ones you don’t even realise you need that made the day feel so special.

We stayed in The Observatory, which was nothing short of enchanting. Beautifully designed and full of charm, it felt like our own little haven. Lying beneath the skylight at night, watching the stars, was simply magical. The hot tub and chiminea made our stay even more romantic it was the perfect way to unwind and soak in the atmosphere after the celebrations.

Our ceremony in The Studio was beautiful, full of light, warmth, and character and the surrounding grounds were absolutely stunning. The views are breathtaking, and we loved being surrounded by nature (and the friendly sheep and chickens, who added such a lovely touch of charm and joy to the day!).

We also had a handfasting ceremony in the woods, which was beyond words. It felt deeply spiritual, peaceful, and profoundly special -  exactly what we’d hoped for and more.

The food was incredible too. You could tell how much love and effort went into everything. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, with such thoughtful touches that made it truly memorable.

Perla and Jo are truly exceptional hosts - kind, creative, and so passionate about what they do. They go above and beyond to make sure your day is everything you dream of and more. We only wish we had found them sooner!

Where do we even begin…we cannot thank Perla & Jo enough! Frieda and the Moon really is a special place! Such a unique wedding venue, intimate and set in the most beautiful surroundings. If you want a small, intimate wedding, with bit of added quirkiness, then this is the place, from the on site accommodation, which we would highly recommend, to The Studio, nothing was ever too much trouble for Perla & Jo. The Tabernacle and Observatory have everything you need for a few nights…so cosy and comfortable with the added bonus of the hot tubs! Our little Pug certainly enjoyed herself! The bell tent that was set up for extended family was perfect too, along with great facilities that the kids loved. The wedding day was perfect…The Studio is beautiful, food delicious and Perla & Jo just let you get on to enjoy your day, but are always on hand if you need anything. This just helps you and your guests feel more relaxed. The fire pit is a nice added addition to relax after the sun goes down, with some toasted marshmallows. The flowers supplied by Babs were beautiful too! We honestly have the best memories to last a lifetime, and the family are still talking about it now! It was really hard to leave, as the place is truly wonderful, I think the family who stayed on site with us would have stayed for longer if they could! We can’t wait to return! Thank you, Thank you to the fabulous Frieda and The Moon. Our day was magical, quirky, emotional and everything that was just …well..us!
The tabernacle listening to music the night before looking at the stars, the freedom to put together the unexpected surprises for our guests and the quiet but total support from Perla and Jo was amazing. We had our wedding at Freida & The Moon and it was nothing short of magical. The grounds are breath-taking and the accommodation is truly one-of-a-kind. My husband and I stayed in the Tabernacle the night before our big day and it felt like something out of a fairy-tale—peaceful, romantic, and beautifully styled.

We wanted a smaller wedding and Freida & The Moon was the perfect place for our special day 💒

Jo, Perla & Babs were incredibly attentive throughout our stay. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of and their warmth made us feel so welcome.

Perla was a total star—so organised and helpful. She recommended amazing local suppliers for our food, hair & makeup, and wedding cake, which made planning so much easier and stress-free.

Jo was fantastic and was able to get me to the wedding in one piece after the heavens opened and it poured down with rain. I arrived at the wedding from the Tabernacle in good shape and full of laughs.

Babs put together the most beautiful bridal bouquet as part of the wedding package and she was so wonderful throughout the wedding planning process and on the big day 💐

WOW! 🤩  This venue is absolutely STUNNING. 😍  Perla and Jo were like family, they couldn’t do enough for us. Nothing was too much trouble and they made sure everything was perfect before and on our special day! Their communication was spot on and they really did go that extra mile. All our guests called this place a “Hidden Gem” and rated our wedding 10/10! Hornbeam Circle was incredible! It was romantic and unique and finished our wedding day off beautifully. So special. The accommodation was quirky and fun. The bed and pillows were so comfy we slept like a baby! Would 100% without a doubt recommend this place! It ticked all our boxes and exceeded our expectations! The photos on the website are gorgeous but don’t do it justice…being there is 100 times better. It went so quick and was so good, we want to do it all over again! 😂  but as we can’t get married again 😂 we are already planning on returning to stay in the Tabernacle. We had a completely fabulous wedding at Frieda & the Moon this month, and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful small wedding.

It is such a wonderful venue, but it’s about more than just the place! Perla and Jo are so helpful and supportive with pre-arrangements and making sure everything runs smoothly on the day, nothing was too much trouble for us or our guests. It all makes for a perfect, relaxing environment and certainly made our ideal day.

We spent a great couple of days there and everything was lovely;  beautiful views, quirky accommodation, relaxing hot tub, and some extra little touches that truly make it feel special (like the welcome treats, champagne breakfast., high tea, and the late-night fire pit, not to mention the magical, candlelit ‘horn beam circle’).

We have just come back from an fantastic stay with Frieda and the Moon. Our wedding day was perfect and Perla and Jo have been incredible. Nothing was ever too much. They welcomed us warmly and went above and beyond to create an unforgettable wedding weekend. They helped me with hair and makeup and answering all of our questions about the day. I can't recommend them enough.

Our day started with our champagne breakfast hand delivered by Jo before a relaxed morning getting ready. Perla went above and beyond helping me get into my dress and taking pictures for me to send on to those not attending.

Babs and paul arrived to take photos of the day and deliver our flowers for the wedding which perfectly matched our theme. Our ceremony was perfect and Perla and Jo were kind enough to be out witnesses before more champagne and photos on the the deck. As my husband doesn't drink they arranged for alternative drinks for him.

After a good few competitive rounds of ping pong Jo delivered our bbq crate for us to relax for the evening. The food was absolutely amazing and was the perfect way to end the day.

Perla and Jo have been professional and friendly throughout. We felt relaxed and at home the whole time. The accommodation was clean with all the utilities you would need for your stay and they tailored the weekend to suit us perfectly. 5* and can't wait to come back to celebrate our anniversaries.

Frieda and the Moon is a small scale operation, so there are just a small team looking after your planning and the wedding itself — “small is beautiful!”

At Frieda and the Moon we specialize in bespoke small weddings, special anniversaries and mini-moons, and handfasting ceremonies, with accommodation in our glorious Cornish Tin Tabernacle or spectacular Observatory. Our guests often remark that we have exceeded their expectations in creating a “perfect little place” – secluded, quirky, romantic, and luxurious.

Our licenced wedding venues are The Studio, a beautiful timber framed sanctuary with Italianate ceiling, oak floors, wood burning stove, and the most gorgeous stained glass feature — The Ocean Window; and The Hornbeam Circle, a magical candlelit grove in the nearby woods — for an unforgettable tryst at twilight — your special vows to each other in nature.

Your legal wedding can be either in The Studio, outside on our Circular Lawn, or at the Hornbeam Circle*.

Many of our couples also book The Hornbeam Circle as an extra (additional to your legal wedding earlier in the day), for personal vows or an alternative wedding such as handfasting, with our celebrant (see below).

* For legal Hornbeam Circle weddings, you also have full use of The Studio for the day for catering and for the ceremony in wet or windy weather. Most couples want the full effect with the fairy lights and candles, which only works after dusk, so please bear in mind that if the ceremony is after 8.30pm – there is an additional fee for the legal registrar.
