As with all fine food, simplicity achieved with care and the freshest ingredients creates the magic. This is easily as good as that Very Famous Chef’s chippies further down the peninsula, without the daft prices.

All food is cooked to order, so you can be sure it hasn’t been hanging around in heated displays for hours on end. It gets busy in season so it’s a good idea to plan to arrive half an hour before you want to eat, get your ticket, then go wander around the quay for a bit — there’s plenty to see.

If you’ve just done your shopping for the evening at Quayside Fresh and Pengelly’s, keep going, The Catch is about 50 yards further along the East Looe Quay.

There are tables and chairs outside on the quayside.

HOW TO GET THERE:

Park in the main Looe car park over the bridge, alongside the river. Walk towards the town and out of the pointy end of the car park, past Pengelly’s fish shop and keep going about 50 yards.
